More than 70% of emergency calls North Metro Fire crews respond to are calls requiring medical attention. As a result, the fire district is dedicated to expanding and elevating its level of emergency medical care.
North Metro firefighters are cross trained to help in a variety of emergency needs. Every fire engine and ambulance (also known as medic unit) is staffed with a certified paramedic, skilled in providing advanced life support care, to ensure all medical needs are met for the patient.
Currently, five ambulances operate from stations located in Broomfield and Northglenn. Medic 61 responds from Station 61 located at 1275 Midway Boulevard, Broomfield. Medic 62 responds from 10550 Huron Street, Northglenn. Medic 63 responds from 10941 Irma Drive, Northglenn. Medic 64 operates from Station 64 at 13515 Lowell Boulevard, and Medic 66 responds from 1750 W 160th Avenue, Broomfield.
