Community Overview
North Metro Fire covers an area of over 58 square miles that sits 15 minutes north of Denver, 20 minutes southeast of Boulder, a half hour from Denver International Airport and a short drive west to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Panoramic views of the mountains, an abundance of open space lands and a robust offering of recreational activities, cultural arts and community events coupled with affordable housing options and low crime rates make our fire district a desired destination for families and residents of all ages.
The fire district's population has grown 21% over the past decade with more than 126,000 residents living in the district. The median age is 37.4, and the median household income in our community is $100,078. More than 75% of residents have a college degree or some college education. There are more than 3,900 businesses, 45 schools, four hospital systems, 18 older adult facilities, over 8,700 acres of parks and open space, and over 325 miles of walking trails.
North Metro Fire is fortunate to serve a generous community that supports our firefighters. Whether it is passing important mill levy measures to fund emergency services or raising money to help injured firefighters and police officers, the community shows up for its first responders. Additionally, we have strong relationships with our law enforcement partners, local government agencies and area fire departments that further strengthen our organization.
