North Metro Fire Rescue District is home to one of the most state-of-the-art training centers in the Rocky Mountain region.  Operational since October 2008, the Training Center and adjoining Fleet Maintenance Facility sit on 14 acres of land located in Weld County, within the City of Northglenn. The North Metro Fire Rescue District Training Center Complex includes an educational facility with four classrooms, three burn buildings, a confined space/trench rescue prop, a hazardous material prop, an extrication yard and a driving track. In addition, the training ground includes a retention pond capable of delivering water for training evolutions, as well as recycling a majority of the water used and collected from the site.

The Training Center Complex is intended to provide a training environment that simulates a variety of first responder situations in a safe and environmentally friendly atmosphere. The facility is conducive to handling a range of group sizes and a variety of technological and training needs.

Directions to the Training Center Complex

Take I-25 to Highway 7 (exit 229).  Go east to your first left which is 168th (looks like a frontage road).  Proceed about a mile to your first left, which is Road 11.  Go approximately one more mile until you see the North Metro Fire Rescue sign on your right hand side.  Take that long driveway to the gates, when you turn in we are the first building on the right – Building C.
