Rich Kondo joined North Metro Fire's Board of Directors in May 2023. Kondo spent his childhood in Northglenn and currently lives in Northglenn with his family. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, he served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the Indo-Pacific Region for 10 years. Upon leaving active duty, he earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and worked in various senior marketing and business development roles with Fortune 1000 Medical Device Companies. While concurrently working as a marketing executive, Rich also continued to serve for 18 years as a Navy reservist and led six different units as Commanding Officer or Chief of Staff. In addition to his role as treasurer on North Metro Fire's board, Kondo serves as a member of Northglenn's City Council.
