Investigations
The North Metro Fire Rescue District investigates the cause of all fires within its jurisdiction. Initial investigations are handled and conducted by qualified firefighters.
When the firefighters or incident commander are unable to determine the cause or believe the fire to be of a suspicious nature, they transfer the scene and investigation to the Fire Prevention Division's Fire Investigators. There are three fire investigators specifically trained, equipped and scheduled to provide response capability.
If North Metro Fire Investigators determine a fire to be suspicious or incendiary in nature, they work very closely with law enforcement to resolve this crime.
