Fire Suppression
In 2007, North Metro Fire Rescue responded to 7,743 emergency calls. There was a 6% increase in overall call volume, however fire incidents declined throughout the Fire District from 2006. Out of the 283 fire-related incidents, the largest percentage (49%) occurred in structures--this is a 2% increase from the previous year. Two types of fire, grass/brush fires and refuse (dumpster, garbage) tied for the second most common fire incident throughout the Fire District in 2007. Each of these categories received 18% of the fire call volume. Finally, vehicle fires moved up to the third largest call volume for fires, equating to 13% of the District’s fire activity for the year.
