Fire Suppression

In 2009, North Metro Fire Rescue responded to 7,813 emergency calls. Call volume was relatively flat from 2008, with a reduction in fire incidents and a 3% increase in medical emergency calls in 2009. Out of the 294 fire-related incidents, the largest percentage (23.13%) occurred outdoors (grass/brush) barely edging out structure fires at 22.79%. Due to the high volume of cooking-related fires in our community, North Metro decided to separate this fire type into its own category. Cooking-related fires earned third place at 18%.
