NORTH METRO FIRE RESCUE DISTRICT BOARD TAKES A STAND

Northglenn/Broomfield, CO— On Tuesday, August 3, 2010, the North Metro Fire Rescue District Board unanimously approved a Statement of Resolution Opposing Amendments 60, 61, and Proposition 101. The voters will be asked to vote for or against the Proposition and the two constitutional amendments during the election this November.

According to the Statement of Resolution, “…Fire prevention, fire protection, emergency medical, ambulance, emergency rescue and hazardous materials response services and other services and programs currently provided by the North Metro Fire Rescue District will probably be limited, reduced or curtailed because of the numerous restrictions and revenue reductions proposed by these three measures…”

The complete Statement of Resolution can be found in the “What’s New at NMFR” section on the home page of the Fire District web site located at www.northmetrofire.org. “Citizens within our District and voters across Colorado are welcome to see the document to gain greater insight to the Fire District Board’s official position on these upcoming issues,” stated Wendy Forbes, North Metro Public Information Officer. In addition, we have provided links from our web site to the proposed measures so that citizens can learn about these items prior to Election Day.
