Stations
North Metro Fire Rescue District currently operates out of three administrative locations and seven fire stations. Our most recent facility addition is Fire Station 67 located off the NorthWest Parkway near South 96 Street. In October 2008, the Fire District added a 14-acre Training Center complex, including Station 68 and a Maintenance Bay Facility. It is located on the northern edge of the Fire District, east of I-25 and just north of Highway 7. Currently a new headquarters facility is under construction and is anticipated to open in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Station 61
1275 Midway Boulevard, Broomfield
North Metro Fire Station 61 was built in 1956. This station is home to three shifts of five firefighters which staff a fire engine and an ambulance. Station 61 has experienced a steady increase of fire and emergency medical calls which parallels the growth within the City and County of Broomfield. In 2007, this station saw 21.59% of the calls throughout the District, making it the second busiest station for North Metro. Out of all of this station’s calls, over 70% were medical emergency related.
The engine company is the second due response for the FlatIron Crossing Mall, while the Ambulance covers both Station 61 and Station 65 areas. The Heavy Rescue vehicle is also available from this station for high-angle rescues, trench collapse rescues, as a mobile command post, and as a mobile air supply for major incidents throughout the District.
Station 62
10550 Huron Street, Northglenn
North Metro Fire Station 62 was built in 1967 and was significantly remodeled in 1989 for additional office space and a District Board Room. This station is home to three shifts of three firefighters, a Battalion Chief.
Station 62 primarily responds to an area covering the western portion of the City of Northglenn. In 2009, this station handled over 1,190 calls and provided advanced life support, fire suppression, hazardous material, rescue and wildland suppression services. The District’s 75-foot Aerial Truck resides at Station 62 and responds to all structural fires within the North Metro Fire Rescue District.
Station 63
10941 Irma Drive, Northglenn
North Metro Fire Station 63 was built in 1963 and is staffed with three shifts of three firefighters. Located in a well-established area, it covers single and multi-family homes, assisted living and senior care facilities, as well as most of the industrial facilities within the City of Northglenn
Station 63 is North Metro’s busiest station handling 31.7% of the calls within the District. This equals to over 2,400 emergency incidents. In comparison to other stations within the District, Station 63 responded to the most fire suppression and emergency medical calls.
Station 64
13515 Lowell Boulevard, Broomfield
North Metro Fire Station 64 was built in 1977 and was significantly remodeled in 2002. The station’s living quarters were expanded and an addition was built to house technical personnel. This station is staffed with three shifts of five firefighters and serves as the Fire Prevention Division’s Office location.
With the addition of an Ambulance to this station in June of 2001, Station 64 saw a dramatic increase in their call volume. This station responded to over 1,210 calls in 2009. This station is located within the District’s rapidly growing northern corridor which includes the Northwest Parkway.
Station 65
9900 W. 120th Avenue, Broomfield
North Metro Fire Station 65 was built in 1992 and was staffed by Fire District volunteers until 1999. In 2007, the station was remodeled and expanded. Now this station, located at the Jefferson County Airport, houses three shifts of three firefighters. In 2009, the top type of call that Station 65 responded to was medical emergencies.
The primary response area includes airport facilities, commercial properties, City and County of Broomfield detention facilities, FlatIron Crossing Mall, light industrial facilities, and multi-story residential complexes. This station also provides air crash rescue services to the Jefferson County Airport including extrication and advanced life support medical services for aircraft emergency incidents. In addition, the brush attack truck is located here for response throughout the District as well as to mutual aid requests by state and federal agencies for wildland forest firefighting throughout Colorado. The crash vehicle is used as a secondary brush truck for major brush fire incidents within the North Metro Fire Rescue District.
Station 66
1750 W. 160th Avenue, Broomfield
North Metro Fire Station 66 was built in 2005. This station is home to three shifts of five firefighters. Two personnel staff an ambulance. The remaining three fire fighters staff the District’s 100 ft. Aerial Platform Truck that responds to all North Metro structural fires. This station is located within the District’s rapidly growing northern corridor which includes the Northwest Parkway. Station 66 was built to provide response to the Northwest Parkway and the adjacent 3,000 homes in the Anthem Community. Each year the call volume climbs for this station, with medical calls topping the list in 2009.
This station also houses a number of specialty pieces of equipment that is used throughout the Fire District including the Rescue Trench Trailer, the Rescue Water Boat, the Heavy Rescue and North Metro’s second brush attack truck.
Station 67
13875 S. 96th Street, Broomfield
Our newest Fire Station, North Metro Fire Station 67 was completed in 2010. This station is located within the District’s rapidly growing northern corridor which includes the Northwest Parkway. This station is home to three shifts of two firefighters. These personnel staff an ambulance. In the future, North Metro Fire Rescue anticipates operating an Engine for fire and rescue response from this location as well.
Station 68
1006 Weld County Road 11, Northglenn
North Metro Fire Station 68 was completed in 2008 as part of the Training Center campusour newest buildings in the Fire District. This station is not yet staffed. This site also includes a Maintenance Bay Facility, the Dennis D. Day Education Facility and numerous fire and rescue training props.
In the future, North Metro Fire Rescue anticipates operating an Engine for fire and rescue response from this location.
